Los Angeles Metro Chamber of Commerce, WIGY will jointly host "Stuff the Bus" event-Lewiston Sun Journal

Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and WIGY Radio are planning to jointly host Stuff the Bus Radiothon on Friday, December 10th from 7 am to 1 pm.

Radio host Mark Turcotte and Chamber of Commerce Chairman and CEO Shanna Cox will enter the studio with representatives of non-profit organizations that help distribute gifts to local families. Listening listeners will hear more about Stuff the Bus, which will support more than 1,000 local families, teenagers and senior citizens this year.

The Lewiston Auburn Chamber of Commerce, Wal-Mart Auburn, and Wal-Mart Distribution Center Lewiston joined forces to help those in need during the holidays.

The radio marathon on Friday will introduce the distribution partners of the event to the audience-Community Concept, YWCA, Sandcastle Clinical and Educational Services, Commitment Early Learning Center, Voice of Safety, New Beginning, Trinity Jubilee Center, Maine State community integration, her safety net, three-county mental health service, and Kaydenz kitchen.

The event invites anyone who wants to donate new toys and clothing at the LA Metro Chamber office or a partner's delivery location before Monday, December 13th: Bangor Savings Bank, 170 Turner St. in Auburn; Champoux Insurance, 150 East Ave . in Lewiston; Hampton by Hilton Lewiston Auburn, 15 Lincoln Street, Lewiston; Mechanics Savings, Minot Ave. 100, Auburn; Ouellette & Associates, 1111 Lisbon St. in Lewiston; Walmart, 100 Mt Auburn Ave. in Auburn; Community Credit Union, 144 Pine Street, Lewiston; Auburn Lewiston Airport, 80 Auburn Airport Avenue; and WIGY Radio, 555 Auburn Center Street.

On Tuesday, December 14th, the Los Angeles Metro Chamber of Commerce team will travel around Los Angeles on a Northeast Charter bus, collect all donated gifts from public pick-up locations and participating companies, sort the items, and distribute them to non-profit partners in Los Angeles organization.

"Last year, residents and businesses in the area did increase their donations and helped hundreds of families spend a warm and happy holiday. This year, as we cooperate with more organizations to support more families, we again count on generosity Unwind. We hope this last week will enable us to achieve our goals!" said Shana Cox, chairman and chief executive officer of the Chamber of Commerce.

This year’s event will end at the Colisey Club at 190 Lewiston Burch Street on December 16th, open to the public from 5pm to 7pm free of charge
