Kamal Haasan is currently in Mumbai promoting his upcoming Pan Indian Vikram. During the promotions, the actor interacted with the media and opened up if Vikram was ever thought to be shot in all languages instead, the scope of Hindi movies in the South, and more.

When asked if there was any thought of making Vikram in the pattern of being shot in all languages, and what was thought in dubbing it, to which Kamal Haasan said he is always up for making double versions. The actor said, "I'm always open to making double versions but my CEO and co-producer there were nervous that it shoots up cost price right. The actor's job is the worst part. Even if you take one shot which you double up for the other four, they have to pay everyone twice and they are concerned about that. Somebody like me, for example, made Hey Ram as a double version, that's why you will not find any linguistic discrimination because Manohar Joshi sir wrote the Hindi dialogues. And you can see the value of the writing without any filters. And I wrote the Tamil film, likewise, I wrote Vishwaroopam in Tamil and Hindi Atul Tiwari Saab. So it has its value. You are losing out on something while we gain one payment."

He further added, "that there is still potential for Hindi films to grow in the South. The reason it is not growing is they aren't coming closer, the linguist barriers are dropping it despite they watch Hindi. All this political drama on language will keep happening but artists and sportsmen are the people who keep breaking it. It doesn't matter, Sachin Tendulkar is equally a hero to Tamilians living in from where I come, they can't even pronounce a Hindi word. So it is like that. These people are great uniting factors."

Kamal Haasan on his dedication towards cinema, "I sign because it's legal. It's nearly 30-35 years since I work. I go on a holiday and then pay for it. I am a movie lover and I am just in front of the camera. I sign a script with the same love as an autograph. I don't get into a project."

Meanwhile talking about Vikram, the action thriller is helmed by Lokesh Kangaraj and features Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi. The music of Vikram is scored by Anirudh Ravichander and the movie is slated to release on June 3 this year.
