While the filter has gone viral on TikTok, it is actually from another social media platform altogether. To use the sad face filter, head over to Snapchat and follow the instructions below:

1. Open Snapchat and make sure the camera is facing the person who you want to use the sad filter on.

2. Hold your finger over their face until the filters pop up along the bottom of the screen.

3. Swipe up to the ‘explore’ section of Snapchat’s filters.

5. Click on the filter titled ‘crying’ and there you go!

To use the filter on Snapchat and upload it as a TikTok video, you first need to film a video using the filter on Snapchat. To do this, make sure to set the filter up following the above steps, then hold down the circle button to begin filming.
