FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. — Three men wanted in connection with the murder of a retired Fauquier County sheriff's deputy's son have been arrested and charged with murder, according to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office.
Charles Bopp III, 24, of Remington, was killed outside of a Virginia home amid a burglary that was ongoing at his car when he was shot in the 11900 block of Freemans Ford Road, according to FCSO.
Bopp is the son of retired Fauquier County Sheriff's Office Major Charles Bopp Jr. Major Bopp retired in August 2020. There is no indication that Bopp was targeted, the sheriff's office said.
Martin Anuar Martinez, 30, of Manassas was arrested in Peco, Texas Monday by the FBI. He's facing multiple charges of murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, armed daytime burglary along with the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Jury Beatrice Guerra, 28, of Woodbridge was arrested and charged with felony murder and conspiracy to commit burglary.
Jose Vidal Pereira, 31, and 36-year-old Darren Nathaniel Davis, both from Manassas, were arrested overnight Wednesday by detectives from the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office. They are charged with murder, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and use of a firearm in a commission of a felony.
Guerra, Pereira and Davis are being held at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center with no bond. Martinez remains in custody in Texas, as he is awaiting extradition back to Virginia.
The Fauquier Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigations, United States Marshall Services, Prince William County Police, and Manassas City Police are working together diligently on this homicide investigation, FCSO said in a statement.
