This portable water filter is perfect for camping, travel and emergency preparedness.

Like a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk, a carton of water bottles is one of the non-negotiable staples that I always remember on my grocery shopping list. After all, water is our driving force, without it, um... you know. Of course, we all know that dragging the box home is not particularly fun-when adding a flight of stairs, it will only make you want to postpone the task even more. Having said that, I must have thought of investing in water filters recently. However, before I decided on my Berkey travel water filter, I couldn't decide on the water filter because the internet was flooded with different product choices.

Yes, I have considered a lot of affordable kettles or water bottle filters-especially because I have well water. However, thinking back to the days when I kept adding water to my Brita in the bathroom of the dormitory building, I wanted a bigger filter and I didn't have to add water often. Fortunately, I don't have to go through the Internet to sort out a water filter of the right size. It is suitable for travel and does not require constant replenishment, because once I get the Berkey travel water filter, my days of dragging the box water bottle are about to end.

Before we continue, please remember that Berkey water filters work very differently from the water filters you normally use. The Berkey filter consists of a two-chamber stainless steel tank and a black cylindrical purification element used to purify the water, rather than being filled with water tanks or water bottles with replaceable filters. Although there are different sizes of Berkey filters to choose from, I think the travel size Berkey is a good product because it can store 1.5 gallons of water, uses two purification elements, and does not take up too much counter space. And will come in handy during camping trips and/or emergencies.

Yes, I will definitely admit that this filter is more expensive than most filters. However, I think this is definitely an investment project. In the long run, it can help me reduce the cost of the water bottle because you use tap water to fill it. However, if you are a new Berkey user like me, setting up the filter is a very time-consuming experience, most of which focus on ensuring that the filter element is "ready" before being inserted into the top chamber.

To fill your water filter, the user must connect the included water filling button to the filter, and then place the filter on the sink tap to fill it with water. If the element "sweats" drops of water when connected to the sink faucet, your element is ready and ready to use. If your filter does not "sweat", you may need to use a sponge or toothbrush to open the pores of the filter element and then infuse it again.

Once your filter is ready and connected back to the top chamber, the product setup is not fully completed yet-the user must test the water before drinking it to ensure that the elements really filter out contaminants. In order to test the water, the user must fill the top chamber of the steel with water, and then add a few drops of red food coloring to the water. If the water filtered to the lower chamber is completely clear, your filter is ready to use. If not, you may need to further prepare the elements and test the water again.

So, once everything is set up correctly, is the Berkey Travel filter really effective? Although I am the kind of person who thinks that all water has a taste regardless of the brand, it is gratifying that the brand can eliminate up to 203 toxins from the post-filtered water-if you have the filter elements ready, this may be necessary It's less than an hour. These toxins removed include herbicides, arsenic, mercury, pesticides and heavy metals, which have been verified by certified independent test results. Because I use tap water to cook, water plants, or make sure my cat’s drinking bowl is full, it’s nice to know that the water I use in my daily life is much cleaner than before.

Nonetheless, the most valuable and useful insight I have gained while using Berkey Travel Filter may be patience. I personally took a day or so to complete the setup, and although it does take time to start-and a lot of trial and error-it is totally worth it in the end. After all, not only do I have cleaner drinking water at my fingertips, but the days of back pain and water bills are long gone.
