L arry Ellison, co-founder of the software company Oracle, was reportedly on a call following the 2020 election that discussed strategies for contesting its legitimacy after former President Donald Trump's loss.

Court documents and a witness revealed Ellison was on the call that included Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Fox News host Sean Hannity, one of Trump's attorneys, Jay Sekulow, and James Bopp Jr., an attorney for the Texas-based nonprofit group True the Vote, according to the Washington Post.

Ellison's role in the call was uncovered in court documents in a lawsuit against True the Vote by the political action committee Fair Fight, which was founded by Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. In the documents, True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht included Ellison in the people on the call.

“Jim was on a call this evening with Jay Sekulow, Lindsey O. Graham, Sean Hannity, and Larry Ellison,” Engelbrecht said in an email, referring to the organization's lawyer. “He explained the work we were doing and they asked for a preliminary report asap, to be used to rally their troops internally, so that’s what I’m working on now.”

Fred Eshelman, who received the email, said he was puzzled by the inclusion of Ellison but did not hear back when he pressed for more information.

“Why was he on call with Senator Graham? Is he part of data/analysis solution, is he a potential large donor, other?” Eshelman wrote in an email to Engelbrecht and Bopp on Nov. 16. Eshelman has since filed a lawsuit against True the Vote, requesting his $2.5 million donation back.

Graham's spokesman, Kevin Bishop, said Ellison was likely there because he supported the former president.
